The Falls Church Elementary PTA has a number of community building events throughout the year. Check them out and see how you can be involved!

HTG Games

The Hippo Tiger Giraffe (HTG) Games is a community building event where the staff and teachers from Oak Street compete against the staff and teachers from Mt. Daniel and Jesse Thackrey in wacky field day type games. HTG is held rain or shine as the event will be hosted indoors.

Rising Kindergarten Playdates

Join us on the Mount Daniel Playground to meet other rising Kindergartners and their families. In addition to meeting other students new to the Mount Daniel community in the fall of 2025, you can learn about volunteer opportunities with the PTA and meet school staff. Treats will be provided!

Information fair

Kick off the school year by learning about the multitude of  activities, sports and clubs that your students can join. Several community businesses and organizations will be on-site to answer questions. Enjoy complimentary Kona Ice too!

- Shopping can be done both in-person (October 28th-30th) and online (all week long!)

- Profits from the book fair will be used to benefit all three Falls Church City Elementary School libraries 

- Prepurchased spirit gear will be available for pickup! Limited spirit gear will be available for sale.

International Night

International Night involves K-12 students and families to deliver a fun, community-building event that celebrates the diversity of our Little City through:

• Educational booths featuring activities and a focus on the cultural and geographic characteristics of various countries around the world
• International cuisine generously donated by local restaurants and families
• Entertainment / performances by students and professional troupes

GIVE Day- ELEMENTARY EDITION

GIVE Day – Elementary Edition is a special FCEPTA-sponsored day of giving and service for our elementary students, taking place at Oak Street Elementary during the school day on March 25, 2026. This hands-on event connects with our IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) curriculum and empowers students to explore meaningful service projects that reflect real community needs and personal action. GIVE Day helps every child see how even small acts of service can make a big difference!
